Sleep anyone?

Oh last night my oh so sweet little monkey decided it was time to act like a newborn. I'm exhausted today.

It's a good thing she's such a cute little stinker or she'd be....well nothing, but she sure is cute, lol!

Oh, Karson.....

So this morning's conversation went like this.

K: Mom, we get to vote in our classroom today

Me: That's cool, who are you going to vote for?

K: McCain.

Me: Why?

K: Because we've never had a brown president before.

Me: (Inside voice) OMG, where did she hear that? (Outside voice) Well, that has nothing to do with his ability to run our country. Would you like to hear some differences between the candidates?

K: Sure.

Me: So, I go on to explain McCain's service history and record and Obama's plan for change, etc.

K: Well, I guess I'll have to rethink my whole position.

OMG....SHE IS HILARIOUS!

NEXT

A couple of years ago, Karson's teacher had a miscarriage. WHen she was telling me what had happened, I said to her, "Did you tell her you were sorry?"
To which she responded, "It wasn't MY fault!"

Wow, has it been that long?

I just realized the last post I did on blogger was in August of 2005! I pasted those messages here so I wouldn't lose them. Man time flies!
So, where am I at today? Just voted this morning. Feels great to have the priviledge of doing so. Peyton is now 9, Karson is 7 and sweet baby Larkin is 5 months old. I believe my last post said something about Jason having a vasectomy reversal and sure enough, even though it took mch longer than we liked, we had another gorgeous baby girl. We are SO blessed. I'll get some pictures on here soon, but she is a red head just like Peyton. I'm the nurse at the girl's school and I really enjoy it. Pay sucks, but what can you expect from public school? I'll worry about more money and higher stress another time.
Jason travels a lot. I hate it, but I like it too. We definitely appreciate our time together much more. The girls scream and run to daddy when he gets home and it just melts my heart when Larkin gives him that big toothless grin!
My next post will be some funnies that have happened lately. Karson just amazes me with what comes out of her mouth.
Peyton now has two cochlear implants. We finally (after many tears and letters and meetings) got BCBS to approve it. She is doing fabulous and is still one of the best students in her class. Her teacher nominated her for a program called Above and Beyond. It is a small group of kids that are excelling in the classroom. It teaches them more difficult lessons (logic, critical thinking, etc.) She was so honored to be nominated and I was so proud of her.
Karson is doing great in school as well. She really has blossomed this year. She was NOT a fan of school in Kindergarten and first grades. This year though, she is excelling in math and reading. She is still planning on being a rock star and practices every chance she gets. She really does have a great singing voice.
Larkin is such a momma's girl and well, she should be. She's either in my arms or on my boob most all day, lol. I'm so proud of myself and her for breastfeeding this long. She is very tall and getting pretty chunky too. She is most likely our last baby and I am savoring every second with her. She loves to entertain us and is really starting to show her personality.
Jason is still wokring for JD Steel. He is a safety manager and travels all throughout the Midwest. He really enjoys his job and has gotten to see so much of the country. I wish we could travel with him more.
So, that's us in a nutshell.

Ahhhh, precious new life

We have a new addition to the Hall family! My dear BIL and SIL welcomed their daughter Morgan Jessa into the world via C- Section on Monday 8/15/05 at 4:38am. She is just pure heaven! We have all been truly blessed. Welcome sweet angel!DH is going in on the 30th of this month to have a vasectomy reversal. Bless his heart. That is truly one amazing man. Anyone who would have a reversal is amazing. He & I don't always see eye to eye, but I never doubt his love for me.....not one second. So, hopefully by next summer OR SO we may be welcoming a bundle of our own. We're hopeful for a boy, but we want a healthy baby more than anything. The Hall side desperately needs a boy to carry on the name. The other great news this week is that my brother and his wife are having a baby GIRL!! We are so happy for them and BOY is our house going to be full of girlies at Christmas! What a gift from God.We also held a birthday party over the past weekend for Peyton and Karson and they had a great time. We went to Papa's house and stayed so that most all of the guests didn't have to travel far. The girls received many great gifts and had tons of fun with their cousins.Peyton started Kindergarten today. It was pretty emotional, but I handled it ok. She is just so little it seems. Karson will be starting pre-school on Monday and I start back for my Associates degree on Tuesday. Whew, what a busy schedule. Until next time............

Well, what the hell....everybody else is doing it

OK, so here is my feeble attempt to get up to speed with the outside world. It seems somewhere between May 1992 (high school graduation) and the present, I've lost touch with what's "happening" in my world. Maybe it was going to college and drinking away precious brain cells; the two little monkeys, for whom this blog is named for; or maybe it was just life in general chipping away at my precious time. Either way, here I am blogging. Heehee, the word makes me laugh. Who the hell came up with that word? It's late and my family is asleep. It seems this is the only time I have to complete a thought, so I'm jumping at the chance. My baby turned 6 years old today. Gee, don't I feel old. She was so happy all day. Not a single fight or whining session. I wish everyday was her birthday. Her little sister Karson, however, was not amused at the attention big sister Peyton got all day. She made her disappointment known with a few moonings to strangers at various time in the day. Seems when she's irritated the only thing she can do is pull the pants down and let her booty shine. Makes her feel better. Drives me insane.Lost my mom to melanoma on June 3rd, this year. Hmmmm, don't even have a way to put into words how that affected (is affecting) me on a daily basis. More on that another day. Don't have the energy or tears for it tonight.Well, I'm off to read a book and grab the last few minutes of quiet before I go to bed to listen to Paul Bunyan saw down trees in his sleep. I swear if old dear hubby's snoring doesn't quit, we're going to have to build on another room to the house.....
